A New Year…

January 1

Welcome to the new year! My hope is that each of you will be richly blessed in this coming year.

For those of you who have read my blog posts in the past…

You are the reason God has called me to do this… I hope you have been informed, enriched, and encouraged through these words – and that your walk with God has been challenged and intensified. We are in the midst of troubling times – but where trouble abounds, peace is all the more important. Jesus came to tell us that the world is a dark and confused place…

Jn 16 33

The great wonder of knowing Jesus is that we share in what He has done (…in everything He has done!). This brings a constant reservoir of hope to our lives – and we can live our lives, thankful in every moment, because of Jesus.

I have been thinking about how to approach my postings for this year, and I keep coming back to something I have been working on for several years now.

Back in the early 90’s, I began to seriously explore my Christian faith. Questioning everything. Seeking to separate truth — from tradition. I truly wanted to know what God was really looking to see in us – and how we could live as He wanted us to live… without the many encumbrances of inaccurate doctrine and practices. In short, I wanted to know what it means to be a true Christian.

So I wrote about it… and wrote about it… and 25 years later I put the finishing touches on my book. The problem was… it was too long, too detailed – just too much information. So it has been laying around, gathering dust, while I pursued other endeavors (including my daily devotional posts of last year!).

But I just can’t let it go. I really think that these pages are a significant help to God’s people – but it needs to be condensed, refined… easier to read — and digest.

So my plan, this year, is to give you my book (for free!) one page at a time. We will cover many important topics, as chapter by chapter, I share what I have learned through much study, contemplation, and research. I was often surprised by what I discovered. I think you might be, as well.

For this reason, I have decided to create a new blog site…

You can go there and read a daily posting from my book: “The Great Missed Understanding.”

However, I will be posting on this site, from time to time, other thoughts that I may have about living the true Christian life…

It seems to me that life is too short, and our task too important, to waste time in expressions of our faith that have very little to do with what God is seeking in, and from, His people. We owe it to ourselves to live as God wants us to live. And, more importantly, we owe it to God. He should get what He has paid for – especially since the price He paid was so priceless.

I invite you to take this journey with me. I invite you to entrust your heart to the God Who loves us with an everlasting and infinite love. I invite you to seek the Heart of God as He is seeking ours…
